Accu-Burr Ground Edge Card Scrapers 2-1/2" x 6" x .025" Blued Spring Steel

Card scrapers, arguably one of the simplest yet most versatile tools, are just a thin piece of flexible steel, but when properly prepared, can do everything from remove paint, shape wood, refine finishes and everything in between. These Accu-Burr card scrapers are made in the USA by Union Manufacturing and are the finest available.

This scraper is machined from 1095 spring steel that has been hardened and tempered to a Rockwell hardness of 48 to 51, the ideal hardness to allow the tool to flex. This way long-lasting hooks can be formed easily. Hooks can formed with any hardened steel or carbide burnisher, but our preference is to use an Accu-Burr burnisher which turns a quick, consistent hook on both edges at once.  Both long edges are surface ground to 90 degrees, and both faces have been polished, so no preparation is needed before creating a hook. Surface ground edges and polished faces allow these scrapers to be used without a hook for very fine scraping.  Both flat faces have been blued for corrosion resistance.

The overall size is 2-1/2’ X 6” and .025” thick, so they flex easily, provide excellent control, and are easy on your fingers. 

Each scraper comes with a .050” thick flexible magnet that is attached to the back and acts as a heat sink, dissipating the heat from scraping sessions for easy use.
